Kim’s journey towards yoga began with her studies in dance, when she was 3 years old. Her work has led her to study and teach nationally. She devotes her life to investigating the body-mind, breath and movement, through her studies in yoga, dance, art, massage, spirituality and meditation. Kim has been teaching yoga since 2001.
After graduating from UMBC with an interdisciplinary studies degree in dance and women’s studies, she participated in several yoga teacher training programs: through the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York with Don and Amba Stapleton; through Sacred Movement, with Erich Schiffmann in Venice, California; and through Yoga Works with Lisa Walford and Malachi Melville. She is certified to teach in the Yoga Works method and is a trainer for the Yoga Works 200 hour teacher training. She has studied additionally with Betsy Siva, Max Strom, Jamie Elmer, Carmen Fitzgibbon, Annie Carpenter and Donna Farhi.
Kim’s class guides students toward self-understanding and awareness, within a healing and experiential environment. Kim offers a simple, yet challenging asana practice suitable for students of all levels. Her teaching is a compassionate and interdisciplinary approach to yoga, dedicated to structural and energetic integration, alignment, breath and heart. Kim is indebted to all the wonderful teachers who inspire her life, and is grateful for the opportunity to share her love of yoga.
